About
Motion made with
an engineer’s brain.
Lasya is a motion and simulation studio from Codesavory, founded by Suriya Dakshina Murthy. The work sits where art and graphics engineering meet: simulations, procedural worlds and shaders, built in Houdini and finished for screens big and small.
Before the studio, Suriya studied computer graphics at UC Santa Barbara and built renderers, avatar pipelines and real-time tools. That’s why the tools, from Houdini HDAs to a browser-based procedural editor, are part of the studio and not a side project.
The name. Lāsya (लास्य) is the graceful, flowing form of Indian classical dance, the gentle counterpart to the vigorous Tāṇḍava. Simulation sits between the two: strict rules that produce motion that feels alive.
